Aequinoctium for sampler, monoctone and organ.
Day and Night are equal, darkness and light against each other - drink wine for the Gods, dance and do love praising them.
Aequinoctium this an improvised piece. The scope of improvisation is suggested in the graphic score. The piece consists of four movements played attacca. The bridge to the next movement is indicated by a tone of steel pipes stimulated by vibration motors. These motors and the modular synthesizer are controlled by monoctone. Whereas sampler improvisation is based on the text associated with the rite of the autumn equinox. The text was submited and read by Iza, fragmented and micro-fragmented, manipulated by knobs. For organ improvisation many kinds of gadgets have been created: clustered steel strips heavy enough to automatically press down the keys, light plastic clusters pressed by hand and pipes imitating the sound of organ pipes hitted by a hammer (we are not destroing the instruments!).
