Strumenti della Passione Strumenti della Passione for baroque consort, soloists, percussion and electronics Commission: Arte dei Suonatori Passion Strumenti della Passionefor baroque consort, soloists, percussion and electronics From the premiere program book: Passion told in other words. Passion told by objects. Passion as the Arma Christi in musical projections. Titles of the various parts are the names of the objects that appear in the context of the Passion of Jesus Christ. Some of them, like The Crown of Thorns, Dice or Spear, appear explicitly in Evangelists text. Others, like Veronica's Veil, became the witness of the Passion through the cultural process. The importance of some, like Cross, is indisputable. Others, like Sponge, stay commonly almost unnoticed. Fourteen of these objects/instruments determines the macroform of the work through the object-movement relation. But also Latin, Greek and Hebrew versions of the names are included in the microformal structures and serve as the substance of the word layer correspondsing to them part of the work.Strumenti della Passione was commisioned by Arte dei Suonatori. Typical baroque consort was significantly expaded. The composer involved not only strings, hapsichords and lute but also four soloists (SATB), baroque wind instruments and contemporary (also ethnic) percussion... and electronics as well. The latter is present in three forms: as a tool of processing acoustic instruments (including human voice), as a source of synthetic sounds of the computer orgin and as monoctone - electronic instrument based on analog sensor of position, force pressure and air pressure, controling analog modular synthesizer. While the polarization: baroque instruments - new sound generation technologies is automatically inevitable, the relation between the preformance idiom characteristic for the baroque consort and the contemporary musical aesthetics arises exclusively with the here and now of the Arte dei Suonatori orchestra implementing the composer's plan.     Dofinansowano ze środków Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego w ramach programu "Kolekcje" - priorytet "Zamówienia kompozytorskie", realizowanego przez Instytut Muzyki i Tańca Piece Strumenti della Passione 1.
