Overdrive The piece dedicated to the Olsztyn State School of Music on it\'s 70th anniversary. Symphony Orchestra of the Olsztyn State School of Music, Marta Dramowicz - conductor. Commission: Olsztyn State School of Music Premiere Overdrive for Orchestra[from the programme]Overdrive is a type of signal distortion whitch are created when the signal on the input of the electronic is too strong. It is usually undesirable, but is sometimes used intentionally eg. in music, in systems modifying sound like guitar fuzz or clipping distortion. The title of the piece can be associated just with such a way of excitation or combining of sounds where come to the fore acoustic phenomena normally regarded as an error. What happens when these phenomena are becoming the element creating a form of the piece under the same terms as the sounds excited and combined in a classical way? Overdrive is just an attempt to integrate the two ways of controlling the sound and shaping the form: classic and - let's call it conventionally - alternative. The attempt, which will repeal the door timidly into the room with a sign "nothing in music is a foregone conclusion". Well, let's fasten seatbelts and...
